 ~ Ruby Tuesday ~

"Ruby Tuesday" was adopted in the fall of 2007.

Her mom had recently lost  her 13-year old sheltie, Beauty, and wanted to give a rescue dog a good home.   Ruby's "sister" is Geneva, a Bernese Mountain Dog [at that time, about 2-1/2 yrs old.].  Geneva & mom do agility classes and therapy dog visits !!

March 2008 ~  "pupdate"  from Ruby's forever mom

Ruby had a rough beginning.  She lived with a family who didn't understand her strong herding instinct and need for exercise.

In the past few months she has lost her excess weight, her coat has filled in, and has successfully graduated from training class.  She is looking forward to pursuing agility in the spring with her sister, Geneva [a 3 year old Bernese Mountain Dog].

She has a spunky little attitude and doesn't take any nonsense from the 115lb monster !  It is amazing to see them play together.  Geneva just sits there while Ruby tries to be top dog.  Occasionally, Geneva will swat her with her enormous paw when it gets too much.  Ruby was an instant hit with the neighbors and the regulars at the park.  She is a welcome addition to the family.

Rescuing a dog is an ongoing process.  Still working on controlling her barking, minimizing her anxiety with lighting storms, and diminishing her tendency to nip young children and passive adults.

I love my Ruby Tuesday  .
