~ Ruby ~

adopted March 2009

Look closely ..... see the cute bows next to her ears? First time at the Sheltie Beauty Spa :)
Ruby is  six years young.     Her owner recently married & suddenly she was dealing with 5 kids ~ their rough/rowdy playing habits making her nervous & nippy  [can you blame her ??]

She didn't make it onto our PetFinder listings, because her foster mom fell in love within a day and adopted her within a week

Now Ruby has a wonderful home with huge yard,  3 canine siblings [much better than the 2-legged kind],  a beautiful dog park close by, and a favorite stuffed toy that's bigger than she is !!      She follows her new mom all around the house and you can tell by looking at the pictures that she is very happy in her new home.

Pup Date May 1, 2009

Ruby's new siblings are:   Beau –blue merle age 7 [rescued from puppy mill],  Lexi – 1 ˝  year old sable [stray/rescue from Virginia]  and Taz – Black and White Border Collie Mix –rescued from Shelter at 10 years old –now 15 years old.

Ruby was a quiet, whimpering, frightened little girl.  She would growl and even show her teeth a little when we first got her.

She was quick to adjust and now her sheltie spirit is coming out.  She loves the dog park and enjoys the smells, chasing squirrels and playing with other dogs.  She wags her tail constantly and her whole body wags.  She gives us kisses and gently nuzzles our noses.

When the young dog [Lexi] does laps around the houses, she follows chasing him.  The 3 of them herd other dogs when playing.  She’s kind toward the old dog [Taz] and licks him in the face.  She loves to be brushed and fussed over.  Every morning when she wakes, she rolls over for a belly rub.

She has learned how to use the dog door and loves her yard, but comes in when I’m home and follows me around the house.  Each day when I get home, she’s waiting at the door with the other dogs, wagging her tail and ready to go to the dog park.  She also spins when the door closes .....around 6 times.

She is sweet and never does anything wrong.  I think she loves her home.
