Rocky

Rocky was about 7-8 years "young", 23-24 lbs and 15" at the shoulder.    Frisky, playful as a pup, would bound into the air to catch toys or treats tossed his way.    Also content to just lay beside you for ear scritches and tummy rubs.

He was extremely social and wanted to meet everyone ~ went to work with his foster mom on several occasions.   He would station himself about  6 feet from her desk and wag his tail as soon as he saw anyone in the hall, entering the main office, etc.     Made a big hit with everyone  ~ including all the delivery folks.

Depending on the dog, we often work on basic obedience/manners during their stay as fosters.   Rocky understood “sit”  and knew he had to be mannerly before his dinner bowl was put down, but “stay” was a bit more difficult.    He would absolutely wriggle with enthusiasm and it’s a bit hard to “stay seated”  when the tail is going a mile a minute <VBG>

One of the cutest thing about Rocky was his fascination with the GIGGLE BALL ~ a bright green ball that made silly noises as you rolled it.    He'd get it between/under his front paws and bat it around for 20-30 minutes at a time, barking in delight the entire time.    When Rocky was adopted, his giggle ball went with him.    We heard a few months later that he'd worn it out and she had to purchase a new one !!!

**  almost 2 years later,  his mom stays in touch with updates on his antics ~  there is no way to adequately describe the feeling in your heart ....   your long ago "foster kid" is happy, loved, and safe for the rest of his/her life.
