Sadie

from the Lancaster Puppy Mill rescue group

July 2008
Pup-Date July 2008

Sadie has made incredible strides .... helped by Max, Bella, our 15 yo daughter Cassandra, and the Shetland Sheepdog Placement Services of NJ.   We've taught her to look forward to walks in the neighborhood, playing in our backyard, and mooching treats (we've been really successful with the latter!).

We have a ways to go with socialization and just "being a dog", but we are confident we will get Sadie to where she needs to be.

Can you find Waldo? Or in this case, Miss Sadie ???

Sadie's inner dog is coming out more and more everyday. She is in the process of learning how to walk on a leash. We have been to some neat locations: The beach, a pond, Dad's house, and a pet store. We are still working on commands. Sadie is still scared at new experiences, but is getting better at new things. She really enjoys being around other dogs, especially Bella.

What a pretty girl :)

Wow ... she looks like she's adjusting really well
& having a good time !!

Sadie is doing well and is continuing to find herself ~   with a huge thanks to the wonderful work of Donna and Greg over the past several months.   Our two Shelties .....Max (6 yo, came from a police barn in Suffolk, VA) and Bella (3 yo, rescued from an abusive situation in NJ) love Sadie and are working hard to bring her into the world of happy Shelties.   Every day Sadie is opening up more -- we've attached some pictures to demonstrate this:
