Pete's 1st owners divorced and he wound up in a shelter ~ another "old dog" displaced through no fault of his own ..... but a guardian angel was looking out for him :)
Cindy & Rich didn't care that Pete was a senior citizen ~ they saw a sheltie that needed help ..... They have added Pete to their home and to their hearts ~ a loving family that includes two other dogs adopted from local shelters.
Thank you so much for giving a senior a second chance !!

Pup-Date November 3, 2008
Just thought I'd share an update on Pete, our senior sheltie. After four months with us, I think he's settled in nicely; He's become Rich's shadow, following him everywhere. He's more playful by the day and now wants to go outside whenever our other two do. And he still loves his walks, keeping up with our longer-legged furkids without skipping a beat.
I've attached a recent picture of all three enjoying the autumn sun (Jamie, left, Pete in the middle, Callum, right.) And a picture of Pete and Callum, grudgingly agreeing to share the couch ;-)
Best, Cindy

Pete is a lovely guy, loves his walks, absolutely loves his food (we're working on taking treats gently!), and is really great with people.
His vet visit on Tuesday went pretty well, all things considered. He has Lyme disease, but seems to be responding well to the doxycycline. Given what I can only assume was not great care in his previous home, we feel lucky that's all he has. He has a date with the groomer on Wednesday, and in a few weeks we'll get a dental for those poor, wretched teeth of his (hope he doesn't lose any, but fear that he will).
He's a sweet, sweet boy. Hope to have more pictures once things settle down a bit. Thanks for caring about my guy!

Getting a picture of all three furkids completely in one frame may take some doing .... in the meantime, Pete's mom sent us this one with all three kids waiting for treats from their dad :)
