Hello -
My name is Penny. I am a very pretty sable, female Sheltie, spayed and about 2-3 years of age. I have been in foster care for quite a bit due to needing several operations to correct something needlessly done to me. You can probably guess my past life wasn't the greatest, but I am now ready for something new!!!!
Because of my beginnings, it does take me a little bit to trust, but once I do, I am yours forever! I am leery of strangers because of all that has happened to me, but the behaviorist who saw me thinks with a little work and showing me that only positive treatment comes from meeting new peoople, I'll be A-O.K!!
I have tons of energy and a perfomance home would be ideal for me. I need a job, so someone who is into agility or herding or even jogging would be awesome! I am very intelligent and learned to sit in one training session. Unfortunately, the cat I reside with right now has decided I'm her enemy, so due to this (and it wasn't my fault), I don't like cats. I will be fine as an only dog, but do get along okay with my foster brother and sisters, so if you have another dog, that's fine. I just don't like to share bed space with them. I am pretty submissive, though. I definitely require a fenced yard and I'd be best with no young children under the age of 14. I walk nicely on a leash and love to walk!!!
I need someone willing to give me a couple of weeks to just "be" and take my time to trust them. I will then love you just the way I love my fostermom and dad and they say I am the sweetest love -- especially while I'm moaning and groaning while getting belly rubs.
My fostermom said to give her a call if you want to hear more about me!!!
Hope to meet you soon!
Your friend,
Penny
