~ Oreo/now MAX ~

Oreo is a rather chatty fellow.   Here he is [on the left] requesting his breakfast.

And here he is [on the right] requesting his dinner.

Oreo LOVES all the snow we've had ~   he is light enough that he can 'almost' walk on top without sinking ~ or at least, not sinking to bottom of the 2-1/2 feet that has accumulated.    And he feels it is his duty to chase away all the birds ~ which he does in earnest every time he sees or hears one in "his" back yard.

Oreo is 4 yrs young. He might be a mix ~ his little tail is docked or perhaps he lost it in an accident. He is an owner turn-in from the PA SPCA [thanks so much for releasing him to our care].

Oreo has just been neutered and brought UTD on shots. Our initial impression is that he is extremely sweet, loving, has funny/cute mannerisms when being petted.   For now, we are also going to say that he is shy/skittish, but warms up very quickly to whoever is petting him. He plays with balls and "play bows to" squeeky toys as though he expects them to do something ... like squeek on their own   LOL.        LOVES to cuddle and get tummy rubs.

Oreo has EXCELLENT house manners and his foster mom trusts him to be out & about when she is not at home  vs.  keeping him confined to a crate.   This is a BIG DEAL and so important for anyone who works all day.  ** his foster mom does not grant this priviledge lightly, since there are two other shelties at home  **

He will bark at dogs while out on walks,  but has shown no problems with his foster siblings.   We were told that he was around children in previous home [NOTE: we do not place shelties with families who have children under the age of 8 or so].
