Chauncey

May 12, 1998 ~  June 28, 2008

Chauncey was not one of our  'adopted'  furkids, but is still near and dear to NJ Sheltie Rescue because he was bred by Terri Smith [now retired].   Terri did southern NJ rescue, working in tandem with Aneita in northern NJ.

Chauncey was an adorable puppy ~ and showed that he was destined to be an oversized sheltie ~ which wasn't what the family on Terri's waiting list wanted.   But there were other folks waiting for shelties, so no worries about little Chauncey finding a home.

His new mom & dad, Debbie and Vince,  didn't care how big or small he was going to be  ~  they were most interested in his personality.   And he had plenty of personality to go around !!!    He grew up to be absolutely the most wonderful sheltie in the world :)

Chauncey should have lived to the ripe old age of 15+ ...... but his life was cut short by bladder cancer ~  most likely caused by the deadly chemicals used on the [neighbors'] yards against weeds & insects.

His mom & dad miss him too much for words to express.   We hope that including Chauncey on our website will help send {{{{{{{{{ hugs }}}}}}}}}} to them ......   and also alert folks to the dangers of those toxic lawn chemicals to our precious pets.
