Brooke

Brooke came to stay with us the week after Charlie had been adopted.   She had been given up because she barked too much at the neighbor's dog.

She definitely barked at airplanes !!!   We are close to a hobby airfield and Brooke was kept rather busy "herding" the various planes as they circled overhead.   She’d run into the back yard, then into the house & through the living room and foyer … realizing that she couldn’t see the plane any longer, she’d run back outside and check that it was gone.   Did a great job !!!    They never landed

She seemed to be starved for affection/attention and loved to be petted, brushed or simply held close as we sat on the floor watching TV.   Also wanted to play catch/fetch with all the toys.  But Sashi wouldn't let her play .... even though Sashi doesn't understand toys or care to chase/pick them up,  she would get very bossy when Brooke went for a toy.   So Brooke would drop "that one" and get another  [probably thinking that it would be OK if she chose something different].   But Sashi would get bossy again ... Brooke would drop the new toy & search for a substitute.    Over the next 1/2 hour, all the 12-15 toys in our collection would be moved to the opposite side of the room.   The only time Brooke could play in peace was if Sashi was gated upstairs.    What a dominant/alpha BOSSY little girl that Sashi is !!!

After a few weeks, Brooke interviewed a wonderful family and it was mutually decided that they would be the perfect forever home.   She now resides with her new parents and Maggie, Queen of WillowRidge  [a sedate/regal but NOT bossy elderly sheltie].

**  Maggie has since gone to the bridge ~  what a wonderful, loving girl she was.  Her mom misses her very much.
