~ Brandy ~ Adopted March 2009
|
Our names are Kaci, Brandy, and Courtney. We are sisters, 9 years old & about 25-30 Lb. We lost our home because our owner moved and could not take us with her. We've been together since we were puppies and are extremely broken hearted about this change in our lives.

Hello Terry:
The little girl seems to have taken well to her new home. Despite my fears, there was no separation anxiety expressed last night. She slept the whole night through. I took her out about 5:30 AM for her first walk of the day and she did just fine.
Yesterday afternoon we also explored the neighborhood and her back yard. She did just fine with the stones, much to my delight. I had only one surprise. This morning, as is my custom, I ran the swiffer cleaner around the living room on the hardwood floor to pick up the dust and hair that had accumulated yesterday. Brandy came over like a shot when she saw the swiffer broom and began barking at it. It was the first time I heard her bark since we arrived at the house. She obviously is associating the swiffer broom with something else and reacting to it.
All in all, so far, so good. Brandy is taking well to both Sandy and I, and she has found two spots in the house where she likes to settle. The beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Sincerely,
L

Well, Kasey & Courtney have gone to their forever homes ~ so that just leaves Ms. Brandy [aka "the Princess"].
Brandy is a sweet little dog, affectionate, and loves all the attention she's getting now that her sisters are gone. At first we thought she HAD to be an only dog. She is actually ok with other dogs, so she "could" be adopted by a family with one [1] other dog, but we think she would really prefer to be the only one ~ she is quite the Princess.
She is on her way to losing a few pounds [was originally 24 lbs and should be about 18 lbs, considering her small size]. We are awaiting results from the thyroid test ~ not sure if she was overfed for years or if she should be on meds [REALLY inexpensive & very easy to manage].
As far as shelties go, Brandy isn't much of a barker.... a plus for someone who might be worried about how vocal shelties can be [although she does not like the "evil vacuum cleaner" and will bark at that monsterous noisy thing]. She comes when called and is housebroken. Walks well on a harness and certainly loves a crate with blankets.
Cannot imagine anyone who would not love 'being owned by" this very special little sable girl {Tiara and all !!}.
